SLEEP & TRASH

We are HOME at last! Rocked the 5 hour drive home like a total pro. No one can slow the Po’ Boy down.

We’ll fill in the last few gaps in a bit here. First we’re gonna enjoy some well deserved sleep in our own beds. Pretty much the best feeling ever.

I’m happy to say that this tour has been a resounding success. No major van problems. No bad shows. Very little drama. I’m happy with ever set we played. Sold a bunch of merch. Came home with money to put in the bank. Made new friends. Kicked it with old ones. Ate a lot of food. Lived the dream.

Word on the street is we’re throwing a pizza party at Milhouse tonight to celebrate our victorious return and Henry’s birthday. Let’s hang.

Straight cold chicken in St. Louie

Totally parkoured the Arch yesterday…

Last night we played at the Lemp Neighborhood Arts Center in St. Louis as you may have heard.  We did have to turn it down a bit but it was still a blast, I always love playing noise bills.  After the show we headed over to our friends in Spelling Bee’s place and stayed there.  Played some videos games then passed out until we woke up to breakfast being cooked for us, which always the best when your on the road. I also got an email saying that my new pedal is shipped, so stoked to get this   thing.

Damn good morning I’d say.  We said our goodbyes then headed off to Champaign but not before stopping in at A-Pop Records where I (not surprisingly) spent the rest of my tour money.

-SICK/TIRED full length
-Capsule “Blue”
-RJD2 “Soul Position”
-Hip hop comp feat. Aesop Rock
-Throwdown 7″
- 2 George Gershwin records
-Dustyfingers tape
-Will Bonn/Droughts tape

Pretty happy with what I managed to pick up on this tour, but it left me with no money :/  Tomorrow we’re headed to Bloomington, In for our last show at The Big Blue House with Weird Kids and Habits, come hang out with us and get straight.. well… whatever this is.

St Louis ruled! Spent money and made some at A Pop Records, I’ll let Sean elaborate later. Back on the road to Champaign, you know how it is.  -Podling

Fist Pumpin.

Today we drove around St Louis for an hour and a half in search of Waffle House. We didn’t find one. Needless to say we were pretty pissed butremedied it by sitting in the van in front of the venue and watching Workaholics. Hanging out till the show, I’m fist pumpin to play tonight.

Real Cool Time

Really wishing I would have snagged a copy of this tape back in Ames. Next time…

Packing up and heading down to the great St. Louis right now. See all you cool catz at the LEMP tonight!

SERIOUS DELIRIUM

Sold a decent amount of merch tonight. Good to know the fine people of Peoria, IL will now have a small amount of Already Dead albums for their ear drums. Enjoy! We’ll be back soon enough with more.

Staying the night with one of the Sad Family doodz. Their heater is broken but our most gracious of hosts has provided us with a space heater. Comfy cozy. Henry made us all a three course meal consisting of instant mashed potatoes, canned lasagna plus mac & cheese. Now I’m laying on a couch and looking forward to waking up refreshed and then heading down to one of my favorite cities, ST. LOUIS!

Got word today that we’re gonna have to play a ‘quiet’ set at the LEMP tomorrow due to some asshole calling in a noise complaint recently. Not sure what that will entail for us. We’re thinking about have henry break out his brushes and playing some elevator jazz all night. Or maybe we’ll just figure out who called the cops and then go burn their house down. That would be pretty avant garde. Whatever happens tomorrow, we’re gonna hang with some good friends and have a great time. Guaranteed.

Also, Josh and Henry had never seen ‘Coffee And Cigarettes’ before tonight. Don’t think they really appreciated it. Just no accounting for taste with some people…

A Let Down

Fuck. Ever hear of playing a pizza place, and not getting hooked up with PIZZA? Well.. it’s possible! The world sucks right now. Everything is spiraling down in a flaming ball of hopeless chaos. After being stoked on this show the entire tour, we have been let down by the realization that we have to PAY for pizza.

The show went great. Brody Maag opened the set with his acoustic act. He also had a drum machine, which was tastefully done. Very cool. Also, his fedora ruled as well.

Next was Sad Family, who by the way, fucking rule. Drummer, bassist, and guitarist were all amazing musicians.  Please check them out, you will NOT be disappointed.

CAN’T. WON’T. AND YA DON’T STOP.

Haven’t posted in a minute. Here’s some updates:

Just woke up in the fair land of Iowa City, IA. Spent the night with our most gracious of hosts, Drew. He is an excellent promoter, talented musician and all around swell guy.

Last night’s show was in a studio called Public Space One located underneath a Subway restaurant in downtown Iowa City. Drew made everyone some bitchin’ lentil soup and we played with two other spacey bands, Dali Parton & Colloquialisms/The Noble Octopus. Dali kicked off with a perfectly ambient noise set accompanied by trippy black & white projector footage. Colloquialisms/The Noble Octopus played last as an electric guitar duo. Reminded me of Thurston Moore and maybe a little Greg Davis. Hopefully our paths will cross again.

Josh and Henry now officially have their own MTG decks. And so begins the downward spiral…

Also we bought a frisbee yesterday. Gotta stay in shape!

Tonight we’re playing at the Peoria Pizza Works with our soon to be good friends Sad Family and Brody Maag. FUCK YEAH PIZZA

The Tour Continues

Our February 17th date was Ames, IA, at a pretty rad spot called The Space, which  appeared to be in a room converted into a venue at a strip mall. Pretty appropriate name if you ask me. Setting up the merch table was a little odd; empty even, but I think, with time, it will grow natural for us.

Before we hit the stage, we stepped outside to witness the most epic of battles. We walked into a stand off between bats and crows. With the fight circling above our heads, we stand close to the wall as to make sure not to get shit on. Ole’ Poe Boy got a couple war wounds. Fuck yeah. The car next to it got DESTROYED with shit bombs. Our set goes great, without a flaw.

We surprise ourselves by incorporating a little fusion jazz into the show. Next up was Fetal Pig, which you should for sure check out. It’s kind of like experimental rock? Find out for yourself.

Tour is going great. Tonight is Peoria Pizza Works. Ride n Trash. – p-man
